Job Description

The Lead Developer will be responsible for building and maintaining internal and external facing scalable, maintainable, high-quality, and high-performing solutions (websites, portals, applications) on the Optimizely Content Cloud stack.

Lead Developer will oversee and be responsible for both front-end and back-end development. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely ASP.Net, MVC, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and ability to pick up new technologies quickly.

You will work closely with project/product managers, solution architects, experience designers, QA analysts, and other developers to build enterprise-grade solutions using modern web standards.

You should have a deep understanding of the software development life cycle, Optimizely development best practices, and possess the ability to implement and execute standard software architecture patterns. You should also be a strong Optimizely (Insight) developer who is comfortable in taking on any technical challenge or task with confidence and efficiency.

This position will require an individual who can handle a fast-paced environment and react quickly to changing customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with Greif internal teams to build digital experiences and applications
Review designs and user stories created by team members; ask any necessary clarifying questions before starting work
Operating as a technical lead to work with project/account managers and designers on an ongoing basis to address business needs
Developing Optimizely blocks and page templates, combining ASP.NET, C#, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript framework technologies
Customizing the Optimizely CMS authoring interface and features for unique business use cases based on user stories and technical designs
Integrating with other Optimizely products including Product Information Management, REST APIs, and 3rd party systems to create desired user experience
Creating custom REST APIs as needed
Testing the combination of code and content to validate functionality, accessibility, and responsive flow
Contributing to feature specifications, user stories, technical designs, training, and documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer
Collaborating with fellow team members iteratively through the stages of development, QA, launch, and maintenance
Practice strong configuration management and version control
Manage the technical administration of the platform, job monitoring, exception handling
Identify and troubleshoot various website issues and coding problems
Collaborate with members of the website team, including designers and back-end developers, to consistently improve functionality and user-friendliness of web applications
Ensure the code is valid, properly structured, and compatible with multiple browsers, mobile devices, and operating systems
Clearly communicate technical challenges to those with less technical knowledge
Provide estimates and timelines for web development projects
Contribute to product and technical documentation
Assist in building and developing e-commerce platform team
Meet deadlines as required

Education

Undergraduate or graduate college degree (BS, BA, MBA, etc.) in Computer Science or equivalent
Certifications for Optimizely / Insight / Episerver are preferred

Experience Required

3+ years working with the Optimizely platform
5+ years working in C#, .NET, or ASP.NET Core MVC stacks
Solid grasp of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and various content management systems
Familiarity with modern web design principles and modular component design in conjunction with NPM, Webpack, SASS, grid frameworks, and modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, etc.
Experience designing/configuring CMS content models
Exposure working with Optimizely DXP, modern DevOps, cloud hosting models, containerization (i.e., Docker, Kubernetes), or serverless functions on Azure, AWS, etc.
Understanding of accessibility, performance, and technical SEO best practices and ability to implement these standards in code
Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and sprint-based delivery, familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) and/or Jira
Familiarity with Git version control and branching strategies
Experience writing and supporting reusable and maintainable APIs
Deep understanding of the digital marketing capabilities of Optimizely and best practices for customization and implementation

Scheduled Weekly Hours

Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $ 115,000.00 to $ 160,000.00 per year. The base pay offered for this position may vary based on market data and other factors, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The position may be eligible for a short-term incentive in addition to base pay.
