About The Internship:

Unite Us is looking for a Summer 2023 Software Engineering Intern to join our growing tech startup that is transforming health and social services. The search service we provide allows users to quickly find the “best match” of available programs for people in need.

As an intern on the Search Interface team you will be responsible for matching social support resources with clients needing those resources. You will gain experience working with React, design specifications, and user interface components.

Our 8-week summer internship class runs from June 5, 2023 - July 28, 2023.

What You'll Do:

Work with the help of a senior software engineer on our modern social care application
Make changes to our search UI components and workflows
Make and improve accessibility cues to elements for visually-impaired and other disabled users using WCAG standards
Contribute to GIT repositories by making and reviewing pull requests
Monitor live web-applications and development environments using real-time data-analytics tools

You're a great fit for this Internship if:

You are a final year undergraduate/graduate student pursuing a Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related field
You have familiarity with Javascript, html, CSS or ability to query a search index
You have web development experience
You have familiarity with React, Javascript, and/or CSS
You have an interest in front-end development
You want to help a mission driven company provide a platform for social care and community based organizations

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions:

This position is remote, U.S. based
This internship is $22.50/hour for 35 hours per week
