The role
As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of new frontend features and the enhancement of existing ones. You will work within a cross-functional agile team to deliver high-quality, robust, and scalable code.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, building, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable frontend code.
- Collaborating with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Writing clean, testable code and participating in peer code reviews to ensure high standards of quality.
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the team's best practices and technical standards.
- Driving technical architecture and system design discussions for new and evolving services.
The essential requirements:
- Proven experience engineering software products for a start-up, preferably as one of the early/original engineers.
- 5+ years of proven experience engineering high quality interactive web products in large codebases.
- Strong proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
- Emphasis of unit testing of frontend software.
- Experience with GIS or spatial data for graphics and data visualization.
- A strong foundation in computer science principles, including data structures and algorithms.
