Hatch IT is partnering with a fast-growing, mission-driven digital health software company that builds products used by hundreds of health systems across the U.S. Their platform supports critical fundraising and philanthropy operations, and they’re in the middle of a major shift from a services-led model to a true product company.
They’re looking for a Full Stack Product Engineer to join a small, senior engineering team and help build, scale, and modernize a growing platform. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants real product ownership—not just ticket execution.
What You’ll Do
- Build and ship features across a Ruby on Rails stack
- Work full stack: backend, frontend, data models, and integrations
- Own features end-to-end—from problem definition to production
- Collaborate closely with product and business stakeholders
- Help standardize and productize a growing platform
- Build both:
- External, customer-facing product features
- Internal tools used by operations and account teams
- Make pragmatic technical and product decisions in a fast-moving environment
What They’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience as a full stack or product-focused engineer
- Strong Ruby and Ruby on Rails experience (this is critical)
- Experience working in product-driven environments (not just services/agency work)
- Comfortable owning problems, not just implementing specs
- Able to communicate clearly with non-engineers and stakeholders
- Enjoys working in small teams with real product responsibility
- Pragmatic, business-aware, and impact-focused
Tech Stack
- Ruby, Ruby on Rails
- SQL
- HTML, CSS, Vanilla JavaScript
- AWS
- Nice to have: React, Hotwire (Turbo/Stimulus)
Location & Work Setup
- Fully remote
- Most of the team works East Coast hours, but West Coast is welcome
Why This Role Is Interesting
- Real product ownership, not just ticket execution
- Direct access to leadership and product direction
- A platform already used by hundreds of organizations and scaling fast
- A company in a true build-and-modernize phase, not maintenance mode
- Opportunity to shape both external product and internal systems
