As Senior Director, Home Product Content your vision plus marketplace and competitive landscape expertise in the Home space will help drive CR’s differentiation and direction to consumers. Reporting to the VP, Testing and Insights, you’ll work closely with leaders across the organization to build strong relationships and promote alignment in support of our efforts to drive growth in impact and revenue.

In this position you’ll be part of an effort to help consumers feel empowered, informed and confident when it comes to the important life moment of creating a home.
As the Home product Content Lead, this role provides vision and marketplace expertise in the Home category enterprise-wide for CR. The incumbent provides a unified strategy and delivery across functions for Home and ensures that CR’s enterprise differentiation and direction in the home space is compelling, consistent, and supports the full enterprise’s objectives to drive growth in impact and revenue.
Key to this is understanding the marketplace, CR’s competitive set, and changing technology related to home to help CR stay relevant to consumers, the industry, and regulators. You will:
- Define, drive and lead development of the enterprise-wide home vision and strategy to optimize enterprise goals around revenue, growth and impact.
- Serve as CR’s expert on the home category externally: includes as press spokesman, expert to manufacturers and relevant government agencies.
- Align and execute on the enterprise-wide home strategy by building strong relationships with leaders across the organization, including in testing, content, marketing, new ventures, and social impact, enabling effective, disciplined cross-functional adaptive management based on, emergent challenges and opportunities.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the organization's business and enterprise objectives to understand how the home vertical integrates with the whole.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends, including product safety and sustainability.
- Understand changing consumer behaviors and needs around home.
- Complete training and professional development requirements in a timely manner.
- Perform all duties in accordance with CRValues, Compliance Program, and other policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as requested.
About You
You’ll Be Highly Rated If:
- You have the experience. We require 10+ years of experience leading a cross-functional team in business operations or the home industry. At least 5 of those years should have been spent influencing high value and impact decisions.
- You have the degree . You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field.
- You understand the home space . You understand the trends, opportunities and challenges within the home products and services industry. You have experience leveraging this knowledge to position CR competitively in this space.
- You use data to drive your decisions . Your comfort with and strong data orientation allows you to make evidence-based decisions. You strive for operational excellence . You have proven experience overseeing daily operations and implementing best practices and processes.
- You value collaboration . You have excellent skills in the areas of persuasion, negotiation and influencing.
- You excel at working with both internal and external partners to deliver practical solutions and deliver on corporate objectives.
- You understand how to keep costs in control. Must be able to manage budgets effectively in a way that balances the need to deliver high quality and excellent technical testing in line with CR’s brand.

FAIR PAY & A JUST WORKPLACE
At Consumer Reports, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation. The target salary range for this position is $265k to $285k. This posted range is reflective of the NY / CA market. Offers may vary for candidates hired in other locations.It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. Compensation for the successful candidate will be informed by the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
