Senior Software Engineer

Job Description:

ScribeUp is on a mission to empower users to control and save on their subscriptions. Founded in late 2020 out of MIT, ScribeUp offers an end-to-end subscription management experience that provides consumers peace of mind in tracking and managing their subscription bills and trials. ScribeUp offers consumers a new and differentiated approach to generic virtual card solutions. Leveraging a proprietary subscription-decision-making algorithm, ScribeUp enables its virtual cards to make real-time payment decisions through relevant factors specific to the subscription use-case (e.g., the merchant, subscription plan, trial length, sign-up detection, usage, user inputs). Today, over 40,000 people trust ScribeUp to provide them peace of mind when it comes to managing subscriptions. Additionally, leading financial institutions have begun to pilot ScribeUp’s software to empower subscription management services behind their everyday cards and banking products.

Responsibilities:

ScribeUp is looking for an experienced full-stack senior engineer to help rapidly scale the engineering team's efficiency. You will be architecting the frontend (web-app and chrome extension) in React and the Python backend, as well as work on multiple fintech service integrations ranging from virtual card issuance (Stripe), account linking (Plaid), transaction enrichment, integration with partner financial institutions and more. Furthermore, you will be heavily involved with managing and mentoring a team of junior engineers by conducting code reviews and overseeing large technical projects that require detailed scoping and delegation.

Qualifications:

• Track record of code reviews and leading technical projects
• 3+ years of full-stack software engineering experience
• 3+ years of experience with React, Python, AWS

Preferred Qualifications:

• Location flexible, pacific or mountain time zone preferred
• If located in LA, would be great to flexibly come into our Venice office (not required)
• Extensive understanding of AWS best practices
• Dev-ops experience
• Experience with fintech integration
