What You Will Do

  • Responsible for the visual design, interactive design and front-end development of the application.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction by improving the usability, accessibility, and pleasure associated with a product in a way that is attractive and convenient for users.
  • Develop interactive designs that enhance a customer's experience with a brand and facilitate an enjoyable experience using various forms of digital and web media.
  • Partner with business analysts and user interface development teams to help define product requirements and prototype design solutions. Ensure the design is functional on all browsers, operating systems, and machine configurations required.
  • Developing personas and usage scenarios.
  • Develop standard UI components and style guides for portfolio-wide use.
  • Ensure an accurate translation of your designs to the final product.
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, sitemaps, and screen flows. Translate these into practical output utilizing HTML, CSS/SCSS, TypeScript using Angular to develop the front-end application.
  • Develop user interface prototypes.
  • Address user interface responsiveness and interactivity in collaboration with the team.
  • Consult with clients to understand their goals and explaining design decisions.
  • Analyze user feedback and activity and iterating to enhance the user experience.
  • Design aesthetics to be implemented within a website or product, from the layout menus and drop-down options to colors and fonts allowing for interface edits as needed.
  • Conducting usability testing.
  • Be a champion for the user to make their product experience simple and enjoyable.

What You Will Need

  • BA / BS Degree. Degree can be substituted with 4 additional years of experience.
  • 4-6 years of software development experience.
  • Experience in designing, prototyping and developing client-side applications for mobile and web applications.
  • In-depth understanding of web standards & markup including HTML5 & CSS3, asynchronous request handling, modern security standards, responsive design, etc.
  • Strong interaction design and user interface design portfolio.
  • Direct recent working experience with Angular.
  • Direct recent working experience with both TypeScript and JavaScript.
  • Solid experience in using complex REST and GraphQL APIs from client-side.
  • Proficient in creation of custom reusable components.
  • Experience with CSS tooling and frameworks such as SASS, Material UI, Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS.
  • Understanding of cross browser/device testing.
  • Comfort with an iterative design process based on qualitative and quantitative feedback.
  • Expert knowledge of UI design principles and techniques
  • Proficiency with build systems such as Gulp, Webpack and Grunt.
  • US Citizenship/Green Card Holder required and the ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong time-management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to communicate applicable technical subject matter expertise to management and others.
  • Ability to apply and provide feedback on service operation model and practices.

What Would Be Nice To Have

  • Proven experience mentoring or managing other UI designers.
  • Experience with W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).
  • Experience coding server applications using Node.js and npm.
  • Experience with automated UI testing frameworks like Selenium, Protractor, Cypress.

The annual salary range for this position is $100,200.00-$150,200.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
