Position Overview:

As a Layer-1 Blockchain Protocol Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining the fundamental layer-1 protocols that power their state-of-the-art blockchain platform. This position is focused on addressing the technical intricacies and challenges of layer-1 blockchain development.

Key Responsibilities:

Layer-1 Protocol Development:

Spearhead the design and development of core layer-1 blockchain protocols.

Implement and optimize consensus algorithms, transaction processing, and network communication.

Work on low-level blockchain data structures and peer-to-peer networking.

Performance and Scalability:

Assess and enhance the performance and scalability of the layer-1 blockchain to accommodate increasing demand.

Optimize resource utilization and latency, ensuring a smooth and efficient user experience.

Security and Cryptography:

Implement and rigorously test cryptographic algorithms and security measures for the layer-1 protocol.

Conduct threat modeling and security audits to safeguard against vulnerabilities.

Research and Innovation:

Stay at the forefront of blockchain technology advancements, identifying opportunities for protocol improvement.

Contribute to research initiatives related to layer-1 blockchain innovation.

Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with a team of expert blockchain developers and researchers.

Participate in code reviews, offer technical mentorship, and provide guidance to team members.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in layer-1 blockchain protocol development, including a deep understanding of consensus algorithms.
Proficiency in low-level programming languages like Rust, or Go.
Strong familiarity with blockchain platforms and technologies.
Expertise in cryptographic algorithms and their practical applications.
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on optimizing performance and resource utilization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and enthusiastic about pushing the boundaries of layer-1 blockchain development.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cryptography, or a related field.

Employment:

Full-time permanent employment contract
Base salary band: €155,000 to €225,000
