HirePlace is hiring an Open-Source Software Engineer to work within an Agile team of designers, product managers, and other developers to assist in expanding features and functionality for our client’s custom SaaS solutions. As a quickly growing organization, the Open-Source Software Engineer will have many opportunities for growth within the company and continued learning. This is a true cross-functional team that handles ops, architecture, infrastructure, development and design. This is a remote, full-time opportunity.

Daily Responsibilities: Open-Source Software Engineer

Work on all aspects of the product from technical design to development, to deployment
Creating tools and features to help student athletes, contractors, compliance officers and coaches work and communicate efficiently
Taking ownership and having a strong command of the domain
Maintaining and enhancing iOS and Android applications
Maintaining and enhancing cloud infrastructure (AWS), code delivery (CI/CD), monitoring and alerting
Refactoring, Migrating, Strangling, Hardening and Enhancing the platform

Work Requirements: Open-Source Software Engineer

2+ years of hands-on experience working with modern web technologies
Experience with Java, C#, Scala, Python or a similar programming language
Experience working with a modern JavaScript framework (Vue, Angular, React, etc)
Experience with source code management (preferably git)
Experience with a shell environment (sh, bash, zsh, etc)
Can pick up new languages and frameworks quickly
Willingness to take on and learn cross-functional engineering tasks such as infrastructure, operations, CI/CD, frontend development and backend development tasks
Must have a passion for technology and urge to continuously learn

Preferred Requirements (not required):Open-Source Software Engineer

Experience with message brokers and event driven architectures
Experience as a full-stack developer
Eventing design patterns
Performance optimization, debugging and tuning
Typescript, React, Nest.js, XState, Next.js
Terraform and AWS or similar cloud products
