Position Overview:

The Senior Front-End Developer will report into the Director, Digital Automation App Development. The role will focus on and assist with design and development of Digital Web and Mobile application programming for UI/UX as well as provision for API services and platforms. This position presents an opportunity to modernize the web stack of a growing company that is serious about transforming to digital first. We believe JavaScript is an essential replacement to legacy languages for certain web use cases. The person in this role will evangelize new node.js libraries and stand-up performance-oriented solutions that prove its mettle. Strategic choices made here will shape our approach for the future and be scaled to a variety of development teams.

Responsibilities

· Evangelizing the use of JavaScript powered experiences in a primarily .NET environment

· Employing Node.js to build applications that are performance-first and loosely coupled to enterprise back-end systems via APIs of multiple styles

· Strong understanding of REST API design criteria

· Employ React appropriately

· Make decisions about front-end toolchains and educating other developers on their use via documentation, mentoring, and by example

· Incorporate industry best practices and advancements into our company’s front-end workflow

· Accelerate development with the incorporation of appropriate open-source libraries

· Build new repos with appropriate README documentation to help other developers to get local environments and deployments working

· Understand codebase build processes and help integrate them into CI/CD

· Integrate API solutions that improve the user experience

· Familiar with best practices associated with multi-member developer teams

Compensation:

$120,000 - $140,000 + 10% annual bonus

Requirements:

· 7+ years of experience developing user experiences on the web

· Headless CMS experience is a must-have

· Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and APIs

· Degree in Computer Science preferred

· Deep experience with git version control systems

· Active engagement in Open Source community

· Strong analytical, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

· Well organized, detail oriented with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple concurrent tasks

· Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership

· Ability to work independently

· Ad-hoc responsibilities as assigned
