InnoVet Health, a small and growing business that provides health IT professional services to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is looking for a is seeking a talented Software Engineer/Developer with React experience to help create applications that positively impact the lives of millions of Americans. The ideal candidate is a creative engineer with experience developing high-quality products on schedule, with strong communication and collaboration skills, and a passion for innovation. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for front-end development of a new web-based application as well as the ongoing support of the application in the production environment. This position is full-time and does not require relocating (remote job). The pay, benefits, and growth potential are competitive.

Responsibilities

Participate in requirements analysis
Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture
Participate in Agile SCRUM ceremonies including Story Point Estimation, Backlog Grooming, Sprint/Release Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives
Write clean, scalable code based on requirements and design
Perform unit Test and deploy applications and systems
Revise, update, refactor and debug code
Improve existing software
Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support.

Qualifications

Proven work experience as a developer.
Experience with REACT.
Excellent knowledge of software development and user interface web applications
Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus
Strong understanding of modern web design using HTML5 and CSS3 and can implement UX/UI requirements via responsive frameworks and design systems.
Excellent knowledge and experience working with the following languages and technologies: Java, Typescript or JavaScript, CSS, HTML, XML
Excellent knowledge of architecture styles/APIs (SOAP, REST, RPC)
Familiarity with modern source control systems such as git/svn/mercurial
Ability to understand front-end users’ requirements and a problem-solving attitude.
Experience with DevOps and CI/CD processes and tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with VA or other Federal Government agency
Experience with front-end testing frameworks (Jest, Mocha, Nightwatch or similar)
Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility and accessibility compliance
Has high standards, results oriented, and a commitment to delivering high quality software on time
Excellent analytical and organization skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent team skills.

Salary: 125k+ based on experience
