The Role

We’re looking for a fully remote (EU / Ukraine only) Typescript + React Developer to build fast, reliable web apps that feel great to use. You’ll work on a modular frontend that talks to a real-time backend, visualises dynamic workflows, and stays responsive under pressure.

You’ll be writing production code that handles live updates, job statuses and user-driven actions. The tools you build will be used by scientists, analysts and the public, so performance, accessibility and usability all matter.

We move quickly, trust each other to deliver, and give you space to own your work from day one.

In this role, you will:

Build modern web apps with React and TypeScript for scientists working at the bleeding edge of weather forecasting.
Design UI that configures, monitors and visualises real-time workflows
Be part of a small team including a product manager and back end developers.
Work autonomously to solve problems and turn user requirements into code.
Work directly alongside users.
Design and develop new features from scratch.
Improve the codebase with refactoring, bug fixes, and optimization.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

Depth of experience using Typescript, React, and Docker to build web app frontends.
Fluency with Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
Confidence speaking to users, understanding their problems, and translating these into UI/UX requirements
A sense of urgency: you’re a responsive communicator who works quickly and to the highest standards
The ability to thrive in ambiguity, tackling problems that might not be well defined and that may not have obvious solutions
A burning desire to improve the current state of government software contracting.

Nice to have:

Experience building software for government and public sector organisations
Experience working on data-heavy visualisation or monitoring tools
