About the team:

You'll be joining the Platform product group to work on Our Client platform. This group creates the building blocks that power applications that stop breaches and support numerous internal product groups and external partners. On the Workflows sub-team, you’ll focus on the Falcon Fusion application, with features like customer-defined automated workflows that streamline processes for handling endpoint detections, intrusion incidents, and internal auditing events. The number of events that can be handled by workflows is always growing and being continuously enhanced, making this an exciting product to work with.

About the Role

As a UI Engineer Intern you will work with a talented and dedicated team to build and maintain the user interface for the Falcon platform. This internship will focus on the Continuous Integration of the application, emphasizing writing and enhancing automated tests to validate the code and guard against regression errors. You will ensure a high-quality user experience that our customers around the world use 24/7 to protect their systems from the most sophisticated adversaries.

Our JavaScript framework is Ember, but if you've used React, Angular, or Vue.js, you'll feel right at home, and we’ll help you get comfortable with both Ember and our codebase. Since we only support evergreen browsers, we can push the boundaries of what’s possible on the web platform while working with truly massive amounts of data. You will:

Build and maintain automated tests for single-page web applications written in JavaScript using Ember.js
Enhance the single-page web applications to better facilitate the tests.
Participate in the code review process
Take initiative and build tools that improve your team's development experience
Write automated tests for your code
Collaborate with fellow UX Engineers, Cloud Engineers, and UX Designers.
Continually learn about the ever-evolving challenges and complexities of the cybersecurity industry
Have fun solving hard problems

What You’ll Need

Currently enrolled at a four university, currently working towards a CS/Engineering degree, not graduating earlier than December 2022
A good understanding of JavaScript and high-level experience building web application user interfaces with modern frameworks such as Ember, React, Angular, or Vue.
HTML & CSS skills, including experience with CSS pre- or post-processors (like Sass or PostCSS) and CSS frameworks like Tailwind CSS
Knowledge in testing frameworks, tools, and methodologies such as QUnit, Mocha & Selenium.
Knowledge & interest in developing genuinely accessible interfaces.
Comfortable with Git or similar version control systems and workflows.
A desire to work closely with others to deliver quality software and solve problems.

Bonus Points

Familiarity with client-side build processes and tools (e.g. Ember CLI, Webpack, etc.)
Experience with writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
Experience creating or contributing to open source projects.
Experience with UI performance measurement and optimization.
