We Are Giant is an artist community platform, purpose-built for the music industry. We are focused on fundamentally transforming the relationship between artists and fans. Our platform offers solutions for artists to build and own their direct-to-fan relationship and transform their audience into a true community, while simultaneously supporting revenue and new engagement channels.

The team is led by Andy Apple (formerly at Ashton Kutcher and Guy Oseary’s Sound Ventures and JPMorgan), Dan McComas (former SVP Product at Reddit), JP Slater (former co-manager of Odd Future and Global Head of BD for 9-figure MusicTech company) and Jorge Monteiro (15+ years at WarnerMedia).

We Are Giant’s lead investor is Sterling Partners. Today, Sterling invests internal and third-party capital on a deal-by-deal basis across a variety of industries, growth stages, and structures and has over $1.7B under management.

What we are looking for:

Our iOS Beta is live and performing incredibly well, and our roster of active artists includes major label acts as well as up-and-coming independents. We’re looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to support rapid scaling of our web products and adding and improving core features to our platform. This role will work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to create reliable high-quality code. The right candidate will be intensely passionate about music technology and/or similar consumer facing products, with experience developing front end applications for similar projects.

Responsibilities:

Develop ReactJS architecture and features
Write and test code with a focus on scalability and reliability
Set an example for junior team members with regard to technical quality, performance, and dedication
Write high-performance Canvas based animations

Requirements:

BS in Computer Science or related field
Deeply passionate about consumer-focused technology (music industry or related is a plus)
5+ years of development experience with significant work using JavaScript/React
3+ years working on a consumer facing product
3+ years implementing front end architecture best practices
Experience with Canvas, Animation and SVG, and REST API
Experience with Node.js and React modules such as Redux, Flux and Material UI
Excellent communication skills

Nice to Have:

Music industry background or personal dedication as an artist or fan
Startup experience or prior work in a rapid growth product environment
