Our client, a rapidly growing start-up company, is seeking a Lead Full-Stack Engineer to guide the architecture, development, and growth of a modern web platform used by global teams. This is a hands-on leadership role for an engineer who combines strong technical ability with product intuition. You’ll define the technical roadmap, build scalable solutions, and help grow a high-performing team as the platform evolves.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and development across the full web stack: React, TypeScript, Node.js/Express, and NoSQL/SQL databases.
- Establish and maintain architecture, coding standards, and best practices.
- Drive modernization and performance improvements while ensuring platform stability.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering leadership to translate vision into execution.
- Contribute directly to the codebase and lead by example through code reviews and mentorship.
- Build and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure systems that deliver a great customer experience.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years leading teams on complex web or data products.
- Expertise with React, TypeScript, and Material-UI (MUI).
- Strong backend experience with Node.js/Express/Nest.js and RESTful API design.
- Knowledge of NoSQL, SQL, or columnar databases, plus real-time systems (WebSockets, Kafka, etc.).
- Experience with modern tooling such as Vite, Vitest, and Cypress.
- Skilled in performance optimization, state management, and authentication systems.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
- Founding engineer or startup experience is a strong plus.
Bonus Experience
- Modernizing large React applications.
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or BI tools (Superset, Metabase).
- Building self-service analytics or no/low-code platforms.
