Manager of Front-End Web Development
Location:
Hybrid in Hollywood/LA area or Remote in US with monthly travel to LA (must reside in Western US).
Overview:
Our client is an exciting market disruptor in the retail clothing industry. We are seeking a Manager of Web Development to lead web development efforts, specifically focusing on Shopify and headless commerce solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team at the forefront of eCommerce technology. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with React, Shopify Hydrogen and Oxygen frameworks, and a solid foundation in front-end development.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Lead and manage a team of web developers, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of projects.
- Architect, develop, and maintain our headless Shopify eCommerce platform using Hydrogen and Oxygen.
- Oversee React Native and Next.js development efforts to ensure scalable, performant, and user-friendly solutions.
- Drive front-end development efforts, ensuring clean, maintainable, and high-performance code that aligns with modern web development standards.
- Collaborate with design, product, and marketing teams to develop and implement eCommerce features that drive engagement and conversion.
- Optimize performance across web and mobile platforms, ensuring best-in-class speed, accessibility, and reliability.
- Act as a mentor and technical leader, supporting the growth and development of team members.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in web development, with at least 2 years of management experience or 5 years of leadership experience overall.
- Extensive experience with React and solid front-end development expertise, including responsive design, accessibility, and performance optimization.
- Proven experience with Shopify, including Hydrogen and Oxygen frameworks.
- Proficiency in React Native and Next.js frameworks, with a deep understanding of modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience working on headless commerce solutions, integrating APIs, and optimizing web performance.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities, with a track record of managing and mentoring development teams.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
