About the Role

Our client’s Center of Excellence is looking for a Experience Lead, Design Systems to drive the design and evolution of our community lead design system. The vision of Center of Excellence is to champion and inspire experience excellence through co-creation, inclusivity, empathy, and creativity. You will have the ability to influence and contribute directly toward within the Design System. You will partner directly with the Senior Experience Lead and Design System Manager to raise awareness, drive adoption, facilitate community contributions, and help drive out our design system infrastructure. This role is a critical collaborator and influencer to design leadership, developers, and other decision makers. The ability to run workshops, conduct qualitative and quantitative research, storytelling and presenting deliverables to receive decision makers buy-in. Our design system core values are collaborators, educators, and facilitators.

Skills you provide:

Figma expert with hands-on experience creating and maintaining complex design system.
Ability to lead community contributions for our Figma libraries, reviewing submissions, providing feedback, and ensuring quality and consistency within the design system.
Prior design token experience, creation and structuring design token taxonomy, design token implementation and training.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as experience with CSS preprocessors (e.g., Sass, Less) and other web technologies.
Knowledge of modern front-end build systems and languages such as React, Angular, and Ember.
Previous experience integrating and maintaining design system platforms such as Amazon Style Dictionary, Frontify, Knapsack, Storybook, and Zeroheight.

You will make an impact by:

Maintain Figma design system libraries, including the organization and creation of components, styles, and assets, to facilitate efficient design workflows and ensure consistency across projects.
Engage and collaborate with the design community, experience designers, developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify, define, and manage reusable components, styles, and assets that align with the design system guidelines and principles.
Develop our design token taxonomy using CTI+ structure, including naming conventions, categories, types and items, to ensure consistency at scale throughout the design system.
Establish design tokens documentation, including usage guidelines, best practices, and implementation details to support adoption and usage by the design and development teams.
Assist with the integration of design tokens tools, such as Figma Token Studio, Amazon Style Dictionary, Frontify, Knapsack, Storybook, and Zeroheight to ensure seamless workflows for designers and developers.
Train cross-functional teams on design token best practices, ensuring a shared understanding and commitment to maintaining an organized and efficient design system.
Create and execute a community engagement strategy for the design system, including organizing events, workshops, lunch-n-learns, and other initiatives to drive awareness and adoption.
Identify, recruit, and onboard design system advocates and champions within the organization and the wider community to help promote and support the design system.
Track and analyze community engagement metrics to inform decision-making and optimize community growth and engagement strategies.
Measure, improve, and align system impact metrics with company objectives and help communicate the value of the Design System on the business.

The hourly pay range for this position is $70.00 to $75.00/hr (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
