Brief Description

The UI/UX Designer/Developer will join a team supporting the USDA Food and Nutrition Service innovation initiatives.

Position Responsibilities

Use multiple different web tools to determine best approach for web page creation, operations, management, and maintenance.
Brings knowledge of Human Centered Design
Design, code, create mockups and Test code
Follow guidelines of U.S. Web Design System
Follow guidelines of Section 508 and Web Content Access Guide 2.0 AA
Utilize CI/CD pipeline for development
Check code into source control daily
Support innovation and pilot development
Must be able to understand system requirements /user stories
Work collaboratively with team members to create pilots
Must have a logical, analytical, and methodical approach to their work

Requirements

UI/UX development experience
Extensive experience in working with customer requirements and creating web sites.
Figma [nice to have]
Experience with human centered design
Software languages - Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL, C++, C#, ASP.NET, React, Angular, HTML, CSS, PHP
Experience with Azure or AWS
CI/CD experience
Azure DevOps
GitHub
Jenkins
Selenium
Cucumber
Pathway
Katalon Studio
Fortify
CodeQL Experience
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task
Strong communication skills – writing and speaking
Knowledge of web design and the U.S. Web Design Standards
Familiarity with Section 508 and WCAG

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree
5 years of experience
Certified Web Professional (IWA) [desired]
Web Site Manager (CWP) [desired]
Java Development Certified Professional [desired]
Microsoft Certified Professional Developer [desired]
Active USDA clearance preferred
