AEP Hawaii is hiring a remote Senior Fullstack Software Engineer – Agentic AI in Hawaii to join a rapidly growing defense technology company.

Join our Agentic AI team as we build AI-native applications and the platforms that embed agentic capabilities across the enterprise. We’re looking for a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer to deliver mission-critical AI solutions that accelerate decision-making for those serving our nation.

What You’ll Do

Design and prototype agentic solutions, including prompt engineering, custom architectures, tool-calling, fine-tuning, guardrails, and evaluations
Build chat-first and agent-native applications, embedding assistant experiences into core products
Develop reusable components for key patterns like contextual chat, human-in-the-loop agents, and ambient agents
Work directly with customers and mission owners to understand workflows, collect feedback, and iterate in the field
Collaborate with AI engineers, designers, and product owners to deliver applications that solve real-world problems

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience shipping impactful fullstack applications (AI-enabled strongly preferred)
Strong knowledge of AI capabilities, LLM tooling, and emerging trends
Proficiency in React, TypeScript/JavaScript, and Python
Familiarity with Postgres, Redis, S3, ElasticSearch or similar technologies
Track record of working cross-functionally across engineering, design, and product
Bias toward outcomes, with willingness to step outside your immediate role when needed
Active or prior TS/SCI clearance is a plus (not required)
