The Role
We’re looking for a true Fullstack Engineer—someone who’s equally comfortable architecting server-side systems as they are building elegant, responsive user interfaces. You’ll work across Node.js, React, and dynamic APIs, integrating both new services and legacy carrier platforms into a seamless, modern customer experience. You will help design, deploy and manage Azure based data processing and intelligent document systems, along with data pipelines and analysis processes.

What You’ll Do
- Build, maintain, and scale fullstack applications using Node.js, React, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript patterns.
- Architect and implement RESTful and dynamic APIs that power our insurance workflows, quoting tools, onboarding flows, and internal operations systems.
- Integrate legacy insurance carrier platforms into our modern product ecosystem using custom connectors, middleware services, and data normalization layers.
- Develop clean, maintainable, well-tested code with strong attention to performance, reliability, and long-term scalability.
- Work closely with product, design, and data teams to translate ideas into functioning features that delight users.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and collaborative architecture discussions.
- Help shape the engineering culture as we scale—bringing strong opinions, best practices, and a passion for modern, elegant software design.
- Troubleshoot production issues and build tools that improve system observability and reliability.
- Contribute to an evolving engineering stack, making technology recommendations as the company grows.
What You’ll Need
- 5+ years of fullstack engineering experience, with significant hands-on time in Node.js and React.
- 3+ years of experience with Azure systems, including databases and backend services
- Deep experience designing and consuming APIs, especially dynamic/complex integrations.
- Extensive experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and reference systems
- Proven ability to work across the full stack: front-end UI, backend services, databases, cloud infrastructure
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs, ideally in complex or regulated industries (insurance experience is a plus but not required).
- Understanding of modern DevOps workflows—CI/CD, test automation, containerization (Docker), monitoring/logging tools.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, system design, and distributed application patterns.
- Prior startup experience, especially in fintech, insurtech, or other regulated sectors.
- High ownership mentality, with the ability to solve problems independently and move quickly without sacrificing quality.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with technical and non-technical teammates.
