Head of Engineering
Remote (US) | $200k–$250k + Equity
If you’re tired of building features you don’t believe in… this is where your work actually changes lives.
What’s in it for you?
You won’t be inheriting a bloated org, endless meetings, or layers of approval.
Instead, you’ll own the engineering function end-to-end, reporting directly to the founder, shaping the product, the team, and the technical direction of a fast-moving healthtech company solving real problems in senior living.
This is a role for someone who wants autonomy, trust, and meaningful impact—not just a bigger title.
What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)
- Leading a team of 5 engineers where your decisions directly affect product quality and delivery speed
- Which means you’ll see your ideas shipped, not stalled.
- Designing and delivering solutions end-to-end, from architecture to execution
- So you’re not boxed into “just managing” or “just coding.”
- Turning customer feedback into real product improvements
- Meaning you build software people actually use—and thank you for.
- Owning priorities, trade-offs, and delivery across multiple projects
- Giving you visibility, influence, and trust at the highest level.
- Working directly with the founder and cross-functional leaders
- So engineering has a real voice in business decisions.
The tech you’ll lead with
- TypeScript, Node.js, React
- Deep Git workflows
- Full-stack product development
- Agile processes
- Exploration of new tech like AI and voice-to-script (and yes, even hardware when needed)
Which means this role stays interesting—not repetitive.
What you’ll need
- 5+ years in software engineering, with at least 1 year leading a team
- Strong full-stack experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and React
- Confidence explaining technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
- A product mindset—you care why something is built, not just how
- Curiosity and comfort exploring new technologies
No buzzwords required. Just solid engineering leadership and a bias for action.
What you’ll get
- $200,000–$250,000 salary + competitive equity
- Fully remote (US-based)
- Visa sponsorship not available
- A small, high-calibre team (11 people) that moves fast and avoids mediocrity - Less politics. More progress.
- A product already in market, integrated with EHRs, delivering measurable revenue and cost outcomes - You’re scaling something proven—not gambling on an idea.
This super cool healthtech startup build operational software that increases care revenue and reduces labor costs—without forcing operators to rip out existing systems.
No switching EHRs. No double data entry. No painful onboarding.
Just software that fits into real workflows and delivers quantifiable outcomes from day one.
